Volusian

Caius Vibius Afinius Gallus Vendumianus Volusianus was declared Caesar around may/june 251 during the reign of his father Trebonianus Gallus. Hostilian, the son of the late emperor Decius was appointed co-emperor together with Gallus. Hostilian must have died very soon after as a result of the plague. Coins do exist in the name of Volusian as Augustus from the local year XII which must have been struck around july/august 251. He was murdere around april/may 253 together with his father when they took out for battle against the usurper Aemilian who was proclaimed emperor by the troops in Moesia Superior.
